Used cargo-worthy 20ft from $2,200 and new single-trip from $3,300, ex GST. What follows is how we sell them, including the parts that are not in our interest to tell you.
New, or single-trip. Built overseas, loaded once, shipped here. Clean paint, tight seals, no history. It is the right buy if it is going somewhere visible, if it is being converted, or if you simply want the thing to still look good in fifteen years.
Used, cargo-worthy. The workhorse. Every cargo-worthy unit is checked wind and watertight before it leaves the yard. It will have surface rust, dents and somebody else's shipping line paint on it. Structurally it is sound and sealed against rain.
As-is. Cheapest, and honestly described. Cargo-worthy is the grade we check wind and watertight before it leaves the yard. As-is units are cheaper again and are not sold watertight — they may have a patched repair, a soft floor patch or a door seal that no longer seats, and we will point out exactly what is wrong with one before you buy it. New single-trip units are sealed and unmarked. If a container has to keep rain off what is inside it, buy cargo-worthy or better.
The first is buying on size rather than headroom. A standard container gives you 2.39m inside and a 2.28m door opening. If a person is going to work in there all day, or a mast, a hoist or a stacked pallet has to go through the doorway, buy the high cube and stop thinking about it. The extra foot costs less than the regret.
The second is picking the spot after the truck is booked. Where a container sits decides how much it costs to put there, and on the river flats it also decides how long it lasts. Level, firm, blocked up on the four corner castings, doors facing the way you will actually approach it. Ten minutes with a tape measure before you order saves a crane hire afterwards.
Set it on blocks, sleepers or pavers under the corner castings — never straight onto dirt or grass, and never on three points. Sitting flat on the ground traps moisture under the floor and rots the bearers from below, and an out-of-square container is a container whose doors will not shut.
Down here the second consideration is salt and the third is shade. Anywhere from Yamba round to Sawtell you are in salt air, and a unit that never dries out under a tree will corrode faster than one in the open. Give it airflow, keep the roof clear of leaf litter, and touch up bare steel when you see it.
Yes, and we would rather you did. The yard is at 1a Reid St, South Grafton. Ring first so someone is there to open it up for you. If you cannot get in, ask and we will send photos of the actual unit with the serial number visible before delivery.

We will tell you which one you are looking at and what is wrong with it.
Sometimes. It depends on where the unit is, what condition it is in and what we have on hand at the time. Ring and describe it — if we cannot use it we will usually know who can.
Yes, for the scope quoted. The figure includes the container and the cartage to the address you gave us. What can change it is the job changing — a different address, a crane instead of a tilt-tray because the access turned out tighter than described, or a wait on site. All guide prices on this site are ex GST.
